We are seeking Outdoor Skills Tutors to deliver three adult learning programmes during 2026-27 as part of the FACES (Family and Community Education Service) programme. Based at Heeley City Farm, you will support learners to gain practical skills and qualifications through engaging, hands-on outdoor activities.

​

This rewarding role involves inducting learners, planning and delivering sessions, assessing progress, and helping learners achieve Level 1 qualifications in Land-Based Studies. Courses will focus on areas including construction and site maintenance, horticulture, conservation, landscaping and woodland management.

​

Working with groups of up to 12 learners, you will create inclusive and engaging learning experiences that build confidence, develop practical skills and support learners to achieve their goals. Activities may include fencing, path laying, tool use, woodwork, joinery, propagation, planting, meadow management and other practical outdoor skills.​
 

We are looking for individuals with strong practical knowledge in at least one of the relevant subject areas, experience working with groups, and a passion for outdoor education. Teaching and assessing experience, along with a relevant practical qualification, would be highly desirable. Most importantly, you will enjoy working outdoors, supporting people from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities, and helping learners reach their full potential.
