About the event
Did you know the campaign for women’s suffrage began right here in Sheffield? In 1851, the Sheffield Women’s Rights Association launched the first-ever petition in Britain calling for the female vote. Now, we’re bringing that history roaring into the present.
Heeley City Farm is proud to host Chol for their latest project, Punk Suffragette. This isn't just a performance; it’s an act of reclaiming the stories of the working-class women, organisers, and rebels who fought for change. We are looking for people from across the community to join us and be part of the very first performance in our newly built amphitheatre.
You don’t need to be a professional performer to take part. What matters most is energy, a passion for the subject, and a willingness to jump in.
