Alternative Provision with Supported Learning
For learners who are secondary school age, the Heeley City Farm educational team is able to offer a wide range of activities as part of the Alternative Provision route.
Our site offers young people the opportunity to gain skills in developing independence and social interaction, through one off practical days, sensory experiences or regular programmes tailored to the needs of individuals or groups.
The practical skills we offer/your course may include:
- Animal Care
- Horticulture (food growing and gardening)
- Site Maintenance
- Conservation
- Woodwork and Joinery
- Heritage
- Trips and visits
Qualifications Available
- ABC Award in Countryside Skills
- ABC Award in Practical Farming
- ABC Award in Practical Small Animal Care
- ABC Award in Personal and Social Development
Engaging in practical experiences can benefit young people in many different ways
Within a nurturing and supportive environment, SEN students will gain valuable skills in;
