Heeley City Farm

Schools and Group Visits

Activities can be tailored to your group or curriculum. Try gardening, chicken keeping, tours and much more!

Whether for an hour or a day, we can provide a range of activities for all ages and abilities. Visit us at the farm and get close with our animals and hands on experience of day-to-day farm life. As well as the animals, the farm has a large kitchen and ornamental garden, polytunnels, and a heritage department.

Our provision is run by experienced and qualified teachers who can tailor activities to your needs.

As well as group visits, we can bring the farm to you. See our animal roadshows, rent-a-hen project and gardening projects.

Past groups have requested workshops such as:

  • Composting
  • Why are earthworms important?
  • What do plants need to grow?
  • Scarecrow making
  • Animal Husbandry
  • What happens in a garden centre?

All of our activities are individually tailored to your needs.Groups are welcome to visit the farm but for safety reasons we recommend that groups consisting of 15 or more people book a tour.

Staff will ask large groups of unaccompanied groups (not on a tour) to seperate if they feel that the group is a potential safety risk.

21st March 2018 - On May 11th and 12th we will be having our first Beer Festival. Join us between 5.30pm and 9pm on the Friday and between 2pm and 9pm (or until beer runs out) on the Saturday for a selection of beer.
