Volunteering
Heeley City Farm is open to volunteers from ages 8 upwards. The Farm, our food-growing sites and the café simply couldn’t run without the brilliant volunteers who come and work with us everyday so if you’d like to get involved please get in touch!
The Farm is also happy to host corporate volunteer days.
Please note* There is a waiting list for volunteer positions, so once you've expressed interest in volunteering, please be patient. We will contact you when a position becomes available.

The Farm Kitchen - Age 16+
Our on-site vegetarian/vegan cafe offers volunteering opportunities such as;
- Pot washing
- cleaning and clearing
- Serving
- Basic food prep
Finance, Reception and Administration - Age 16+
General office duties, such as:
- Filing
- Photocopying
- Typing
- Laminating
- Data entry
- Counting money
- Spreadsheets
- Databases
- Document production
- Answering the telephone
- Taking messages
- Offering basic information to visitors.
Site Maintenance - Age 16+
- Mending/building fences
- Painting
- Transporting materials and tools
- Laying woodchip
- Building structures
- Assisting with manure and compost production
- General maintenance
Sheffield Safe Places - Age 18+
- Secret shopping
- Assisting with training for new premises
- Audits
- General office work including data entry and document production
- Assisting at events.
