Heeley City Farm is working with a number of schools in the Sheffield area to develop sustainable school food growing gardens. Funding has been raised to provide each school with a food grower from the farm who delivers weekly gardening activities with groups of school children and provides training and support to the teachers and parents. The school projects provide children and their families a valuable opportunity to learn where their food comes from and to grow their own food to eat and cook within school.
