Healthy Eating

Practical advice and support in your community

Heeley City Farm and Sheffield Wildlife Trust are working with NHS Sheffield to help communities access healthy eating advice and support.

If you or a group you work with could benefit from healthy eating information or practical cooking sessions  we may be able to offer free services and  assistance.

We are happy to come to talk to existing groups or attend an event or we could arrange a course of cook and eat sessions in a community if there is enough interest. (Minimum of 5 attendees). 

Healthy Eating Activities in your community

Cook and Eat  Sessions
(6 week 2 hour sessions to explore healthy eating ideas and try out fantastic recipes in a small group)

Healthy Eating Workshops (one off taster course and introduction to Healthy Eating and the eatwell plate)

Advice and Information
Expert advice and support to achieve healthy eating goals and attendance at community events

Sessions are tailored for each group but could include the following

• The eatwell plate
• Food Labelling
• Identifying Sugars and Fats
• Cooking on a Budget
• Food Safety & Hygiene
• Smoothie Making
• Seasonal Recipes and healthy alternatives to processed  foods
• Healthy Family Foods
• Cooking For One

About us
Our team has a track record of working in communities across Sheffield for the past 5 years. Our aim is to encourage and enable people to eat a healthier balanced diet and increase their skills and confidence.

Organisations we have worked with include SureStart, Wolfe Road Healthy Living Centre, MENCAP, Mental Health Support Group, Arbourthorne Community Centre, The Foyer, Northern Refugee Centre Women’s Conversation Club, ZEST, Sharrow Ship Shape Shop….
