Small Animal Visiting Times : The Small Animal House is open seven days a week but on Wednesday and Friday mornings the LDD unit is in the building cleaning the animal cages out. If you are planning a visit to the farm it's best to avoid the animal house at these times as it can be very chaotic!

jerryHelp to feed Jerry the Farm cat! : We have a donation flip top bin for cat food in the farm cafe for donations of cat food. We don't get any funding to feed her and she does a good job of chasing off the mice who try to steal animal feed from the store. She still needs to be fed though to keep her fit to see them off! Thank you in advance.

The Autumn Show : on the 19th September is not so far away! If any of you fruit & veg growers, cake bakers, jam makers or compost concocters would like to show off all your hard work, print off the form and bring in your wares between 10-11am on the 19th September!! Forms are also available from farm reception, farm cafe and the garden centre.

Moor Fete : Iain and the gang took some of the animals along to the Moor Fete on Sunday. It was a great success; we raised over £400 altogether for farm funds and the organisers were really impressed with the animals, the displays and staff and volunteer conduct. Great stuff!! If you are interested in having the animals as an attraction for your event, please contact Jill Brookes on 0114 250 5105 or email Jill.brookes@heeleyfarm.org.uk

4,200 miles in a Trabi! ... became 5,300 miles including detours, but the heroic Trabi made it! Christine and Dominic, Friends of Heeley City Farm, drove from Sheffield to Banjul in Gambia as part of the Plymouth Dakar Challenge (sometimes known as the Ultimate Banger Challenge). In the process they have been raising money for Heeley City Farm and another charity, Seeds for Africa. In addition, the car and it's contents (not the drivers) were auctioned in Gambia with the proceeds going to local development charities. You can see their blog at the Sunspots Web Site.
