We run courses in Organic Horticulture, Renewable Energies and Technologies, Environmental Conservation and Skills for Life. If you can’t find what you want on the lists below then please also check out our volunteering pages – you can learn the skills you want from a volunteering placement.

Food Growing Courses for 2010

Grow Your Own Organic Food
Informal, practical sessions & Free! Weekly courses for Spring & Summer, helping you develop skills and knowledge to grow your own fruit and vegetables with success.

Starting Friday 5th March Heeley City Farm 10am-12pm
Starting Monday 8th March Meersbrook Park Walled Garden 10am-1pm

Both these courses run as rolling programmes, right through Spring and Summer, so you can join later on if there’s space.Contact the Local Food Team to book/further details.

Organic Farm School
In partnership with the Soil Association. Four half day sessions at Wortley Hall Walled Garden, covering essential skills and knowledge to successfully grow your own produce.Saturdays 10am-1pm

10 April: ‘Soil’
17 April: ‘Compost’
24 April: ‘Crops’
1 May: ‘Fruit’

£15 per session, or £50 for all four.Discounts for Soil Association members. Further details and booking at www.organickitchengarden.co.uk

Based at Heeley City Farm with weekly work-trips to the Peak District National Park and other great places – you can join at anytime!
