The Over 50’s Craft Group at Heeley City Farm sold their crafts and cards at the Christmas Fayre on Saturday December 12th 2009. The group meet every Friday to learn new skills and this year they have been working with a lot of recycled materials crocheting beautiful handbags and jewellery out of plastic carrier bags and creating vintage Christmas tree decorations out of lovely fabrics and felts.
Sally Rodgers who helps with the group said, ”The ladies have made some gorgeous felt ginger bread men and beautiful robins that will be treasured for generations to come. They’ve all had a great time making them and I’m sure they will be very popular at the Christmas Fayre, we’ve even made a special one for Father Christmas!”
